Painted Peonies
Their fight
Wednesday, May 23, 2012

Harsh chiseled words of rock rolled like heavy boulders
across her tongue aiming at not just his ears
but his heart
A clustered mess of hellfire pulled the trigger
to his lips and shut them up.
She fired poisoned arrows of hurt yet
He swallowed them only to be slightly wounded and bleed tears
as she sighed a million sighs and bled with him
creating a salty river of drifting emotions crashing waves

The child watched alone from her crevice of the door
wondering exactly why they are waging war
and what for
and that day her little heart slowed a few milliseconds
and her eyes dimmed
when she heard the word 'divorce'
though she did not know what it really meant.

Ghost forest
Thursday, January 12, 2012

follow me into the forest,
where you would find magic plenty
lace like fog, jewel like dew,
star like leaves with gold seeds
follow me into the forest.

do not be afraid, for fear feeds
this ghost forest.
timeless wilting , wilting,
these bushes now be, for the forest is hungry.
follow me into the forest, and see
everything sketched black with soot
rivers with widening ripples along the blinds of my eyes
shutting them away from the rays of light.
we will float on its waters like promises we ought to keep,
only drowning before the sailboat is complete.
at night we will see the sky cry
millions of stars as it dies
as they cast their graves beneath the trees
forming shadows behind our feet.

follow me into the forest
this ghost forest,
where you would find magic plenty.
would, would, simply would ,
but without fear, the forest will be hungry.
